The unity of the church in Indonesia is an important call in the context of cultural, ethnic and denominational diversity. This research aims to explore the challenges, obstacles and successes in joint ministry between churches. The method used is literature study, by analyzing literature related to church unity, official documents from the Communion of Churches in Indonesia (PGI), as well as reports on ecumenical initiatives. The research results show that internal challenges such as doctrinal differences and lack of theological dialogue, as well as external obstacles such as socio-political issues and the dominance of certain denominations, are obstacles in realizing church unity. However, success in collaborating on social services, educating leaders across denominations, and holding joint worship shows positive steps towards unity. The theological implications of this research emphasize the need to broaden the understanding of communion and the integration of ecumenical education in theological school curricula. In this way, the unity of the church can be realized in real terms and have a positive impact on the wider community.
