Worship is a term commonly used to describe an individual's activity during a communal gathering to express faith through songs of praise and listening to the Word of God. Worship can also be viewed as a supportive component in the recovery process of individuals with substance use disorders (ODGPZ). This study investigates how worship services can assist residents in their recovery process. Participating in spiritual activities not only strengthens group relationships but also provides positive encouragement, which is an essential part of the journey towards health and a better life. Howard J. Clinebell, Jr. describes worship as an experience in which a person feels like returning home from a distant place where they have felt estranged. Worship can also serve as an effective tool in group therapy, especially when group members with substance use disorders share similar thoughts and feelings about certain concepts, which can enhance their emotional responses. This study aims to identify the impact of worship services as a medium for fostering motivation, increasing connection with religious values, and strengthening recovery efforts for individuals with substance use disorders. The research employs a qualitative method with a case study approach, focusing on Christian individuals with substance use disorders at the BNN Deli Serdang Rehabilitation Center. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation involving three residents and two counselors. The findings indicate that worship serves as more than just a means of praise and exaltation; it also functions as an effective therapeutic tool for building solidarity, reducing guilt, and encouraging positive changes in behavior and attitudes. The communal support present during worship enhances the sense of belonging and affirms the individual's value within the group. Furthermore, consistent worship practices have a positive impact on the physical, mental, and spiritual recovery of individuals with substance use disorders. Therefore, worship services not only support the recovery process but also help establish a strong moral and ethical foundation, providing positive reinforcement toward a better life.
