Abstract

This study examines the role of Christian Religious Education (CRE) in shaping the spiritual values of students in Indonesia. In a modern context filled with moral and spiritual challenges, CRE plays a vital role in providing students with a strong spiritual foundation through Bible-based learning. This study employs a qualitative approach with literature review to analyze how CRE influences the development of students’ character and morals. The results show that CRE significantly contributes to guiding students in understanding spiritual values, such as living a new life in Christ, being led by the Holy Spirit, and reflecting the fruits of the Spirit. CRE teachers play a central role in creating creative learning experiences, supporting spiritual activities, and fostering collaboration among families, schools, and communities. This research provides guidance on how CRE can serve as a means for holistic character development while addressing the spiritual challenges faced by the younger generation in the era of globalization.
