Abstract

The aim of this research is to find out how relevant and important the role of customs is in shaping the social structure and values ​​of the Pagar Batu Village community. Through a qualitative approach, it was found that customs are not just traditions, but are also life guidelines that regulate various aspects of life, from relationships between individuals to the value systems adhered to. Customs act as social glue, form identity, and are a source of local wisdom. The method used by the author is a qualitative method, namely literature study, to achieve the research objectives. The research results show that customs in Pagar Batu Village not only regulate social relations, but also become a source of values ​​that guide people's behavior in various aspects of life. Values ​​such as mutual cooperation, deliberation, and cooperation are important to maintain a balance between individual and community interests. The Pagar Batu community tries to adapt to changing times while maintaining their cultural identity.
