Abstract

The aim of this study is to examine the positive and significant influence of the contextual teaching and learning model on the interest in learning Christian Religious Education among 12th-grade students at SMA Negeri 3 Tarutung in the 2024/2025 academic year. The research method employed is quantitative, utilizing inferential statistical data analysis. The population consists of all 129 students in the 12th grade at SMA Negeri 3 Tarutung in the 2024/2025 academic year, and a sample of 36 students was selected using the stratified sampling technique. Data were collected through a closed-ended questionnaire containing 42 items—22 items for variable X and 20 items for variable Y.  The data analysis results show a positive and significant influence of the contextual teaching and learning model on the learning interest of 12th-grade students at SMA Negeri 3 Tarutung in the 2024/2025 academic year. This is evidenced by the following data analysis:  1) Analysis requirement tests: a) A positive relationship test yielded an rxy value = 0.608 > rtable(α=0.05, n=36) = 0.329.  b) A significant relationship test showed a t-value of 4.465 > ttable(α=0.05, df=n-2=34) = 2.042.  2) Effect tests:  a) The regression equation test resulted in the regression equation.   b) The regression determination coefficient (r²) = 37.0%. 3) Hypothesis testing: Using the F-test, Fcalculated > Ftable(α=0.05, numerator df k=17, denominator df=n-2=36-2=34), which is 19.940 > 1.62. Thus, the alternative hypothesis (Ha) is accepted, and the null hypothesis (H0) is rejected.
