This study aims to explore how Christian Religious Education (CRE) plays a role in enhancing high school students’ learning independence. Learning independence includes students’ ability in managing their learning process independently, as well as demonstrating a disciplined and responsible attitude. As part of the school’s curriculum, PAK not only focuses on faith nurturing, but also on forming an independent attitude in the learning process. The study was conducted using qualitative methods through literature review, observation, and documentation to collect data from various related sources. Study results indicate that values in PAK, such as love, integrity, and responsibility, play an important role in shaping students’ independent character. PAK teachers serve as guides who instill these values through an approach that includes aspects of students’ knowledge, emotions, and spirituality. Thus, PAK not only conveys religious teachings, but also encourages students to become more independent in learning, capable of making decisions, and responsible for their own learning process. From this study it can be concluded that PAK contributes significantly in building students’ learning independence, supporting a more thorough and characterful education.
