Abstract

Christian religious education has a very important role in shaping the personality and spiritual life of students. This research aims to explore the role of Christian Religious Education (CRE) teachers in guiding students towards a personal encounter with Christ. CRE teachers not only teach the Bible and Church teachings but also become living examples that reflect Christian values, thereby influencing the spiritual development of their students. This research uses a qualitative approach with a literature review methodology to enable deeper exploration of the concepts, principles and teaching methods applied by CRE teachers. This study also identified the challenges teachers face in teaching students, including time constraints and students' diverse mental backgrounds. Additionally, this research analyzes how teachers can facilitate students' spiritual experiences through the practice of prayer, reflection, and loving action, while strengthening their spiritual connection with God. We hope that the results of this research can provide useful information for developing a more effective approach to Christian religious education, as well as contributing to better religious education policies in the future.
