The objective of this study is to explain how Christian Religious Education (CRE) teachers adapt their pedagogical competencies to address the differing characteristics between regular students and students with special needs at SDN 064025 Medan. Students identified as having special needs (SEN) exhibit markedly different characteristics compared to their peers in this public school setting. These include defiant behavior, emotional instability, inconsistent responsiveness, disruptive and destructive tendencies, difficulty in social interaction with peers, and delays in learning. Using a qualitative descriptive method, data were collected through direct observation and interviews with fellow teachers regarding the contrasting characteristics between regular and special needs students. The findings indicate that through the adaptation of pedagogical competencies—particularly by CRE teachers—inclusive CRE learning can be effectively implemented. As a result, both regular and special needs students are able to learn CRE together in the same classroom, without the assistance of a special education teacher.
