This research analyzes the relevance of the teachings of the Apostle Paul in 2 Corinthians 4:16-18 to the spiritual life of members of the HKBP Pagar Beringin community who are experiencing the aging process. The main focus of this study is how the eternal hope taught by Paul can be a source of strength and comfort for those who face physical limitations due to aging. In this biblical text, the apostle Paul emphasizes that despite the body's weakness and decay, the believer's soul is renewed daily, giving him a hope that is not diminished by physical suffering. Using a hermeneutical approach, this research examines how this teaching can be applied in the context of the daily lives of parishioners, with a focus on a more eternal spirit rather than temporary physical suffering and setbacks. This study also aims to provide a deeper understanding of eternal hope in Christ as the foundation of spiritual life that brings peace and joy even amidst the challenges of aging.
