Peran Kode Etik Guru dalam Meningkatkan Integritas dan Moralitas Guru Pendidikan Agama Kristen

Abstract

The teacher code of ethics plays an important role in shaping the integrity and morality of Christian Religious Education (PAK) teachers. As a guideline for professional behavior, the code of ethics regulates the attitudes, actions, and responsibilities of teachers in carrying out their duties. This article discusses the importance of the code of ethics in improving the moral quality and professionalism of PAK teachers, by highlighting Christian values ​​such as love, honesty, justice, and responsibility that are the basis for educational practice. This study uses a literature review method to analyze the application of the teacher code of ethics in the context of Christian religious education. The results of the study indicate that the application of the code of ethics requires support from various parties such as the principal, colleagues, government, and church community. However, its implementation is often hampered by a lack of understanding, weak supervision, and minimal ongoing training. Therefore, consistent training, strict supervision, and awards are needed for teachers who demonstrate good moral performance. With effective implementation, the code of ethics can become a solid moral foundation, create a conducive learning environment, and shape student character in accordance with Christian values.
