Pengaruh Homiletika Terhadap Efektivitas Penyampaian Khotbah Di Gereja Modern

Abstract

This research aims to explore the influence of homiletics on the effectiveness of sermon delivery in modern churches. In the context of a church that continues to grow, especially in facing contemporary challenges such as globalization, technological advances, and cultural changes, it is important for preachers to convey God's word relevantly and effectively. Homiletics, as the science and art of delivering sermons, has a vital role in determining the extent to which the sermon message can be received, understood and applied by the congregation. This study identifies various approaches in homiletics that can improve the quality of sermon delivery, such as using clear and applicable language, integrating multimedia in sermon delivery, and contextualizing messages according to the conditions and needs of today's congregation. The research results show that the use of appropriate homiletic methods, which take into account the social and cultural context of the congregation, can significantly increase the congregation's involvement in the sermon, deepen their understanding of God's word, and encourage changes in behavior that are in accordance with the teachings of the Bible. However, this study also found that although homiletics has a large role in increasing the effectiveness of sermons, challenges remain, especially in dealing with generational differences and congregational social backgrounds. Therefore, preachers in the modern church need to continue to develop their homiletic skills in order to respond to the challenges of the times and convey God's message in a way that remains authentic, relevant and impactful.
