The aim of this study is to determine the significant differences in the learning outcomes of Christian Religious Education and Character Education among tenth-grade students taught using the Peer Teaching method (Peer Tutor) compared to those taught using the Lecture method at SMA Negeri 1 Silimakuta, Simalungun Regency, during the 2023/2024 academic year. This study employed a quantitative research method with a True Experimental Design, specifically the Posttest Only Control design. The population consisted of all tenth-grade students at SMA N 1 Silimakuta, totaling 214 students. The sample was selected using purposive sampling, with the criterion that the experimental learning materials were applied to the selected class. Specifically, class X-4, consisting of 35 students, served as the experimental group, while class X-3, consisting of 34 students, served as the control group. The research instrument was a test comprising 25 items. Data analysis was performed using prerequisite tests, namely the homogeneity test with n₁≠n₂ and homogeneous variances (Ơ1² = Ơ2²), for which the pooled variance formula was used. Based on the pooled variance formula, the results showed that t_calculated = 9.953 > t_table (df = n1+n2-2 = 35+34-2 = 67) with a 5% significance level for a one-tailed test, where t_table = 1.671. Thus, H0 was rejected, and Ha was accepted. This means that the learning outcomes of Christian Religious Education among students taught using the Peer Teaching method (Peer Tutor) were higher than those taught using the Lecture method in the tenth grade at SMA Negeri 1 Silimakuta, Simalungun Regency, during the 2023/2024 academic year.
