Abstract

The study aims to determine the effect of the problem-solving learning model on the learning engagement in Christian Religious Education and Character Development among 11th-grade students at SMK Negeri 1 Sipoholon during the 2024/2025 academic year. The research hypothesis posits a positive and significant influence of the problem-solving learning model on the learning engagement in Christian Religious Education and Character Development among the 11th-grade students at SMK Negeri 1 Sipoholon during the 2024/2025 academic year. The research employs a quantitative method with descriptive analysis. The population includes all 11th-grade Protestant students at SMK Negeri 1 Sipoholon during the 2024/2025 academic year, totaling 90 individuals. This study is categorized as population research. The research instrument consists of a closed-ended questionnaire. The data analysis results are as follows: a) The correlation coefficient value (rcalculated=0.761>rtable=0.207 rcalculated = 0.761 > rtable = 0.207) indicates a positive relationship between the problem-solving learning model and learning engagement in Christian Religious Education and Character Development among the 11th-grade students at SMK Negeri 1 Sipoholon during the 2024/2025 academic year. b) The regression equation is Y^= 10.59 + 0.37XŶ= 10.59 + 0,37X c) The coefficient of determination test shows an effect size of 57.91%. d) The hypothesis test reveals F calculated=120> Ftable=3.15 Fcalculated = 120 > Ftable = 3.15, leading to the rejection of H0 and acceptance of Ha. The study concludes that there is a positive and significant influence of the problem-solving learning model on the learning engagement in Christian Religious Education and Character Development among the 11th-grade students at SMK Negeri 1 Sipoholon during the 2024/2025 academic year.
