The study aims to determine the extent of the influence of Emotional Quotient (EQ) on the learning outcomes of Christian Religious Education and Character Development among Grade VIII students at SMP Negeri 2 Sipoholon for the 2023/2024 academic year. The research hypothesis posits a positive and significant effect of Emotional Quotient (EQ) on the learning outcomes in Christian Religious Education and Character Development among these students. The research employs a descriptive and inferential quantitative method. The population comprises all 120 Christian Grade VIII students at SMP Negeri 2 Sipoholon for the 2023/2024 academic year. A random sampling technique was used, selecting 50% of the population, or 60 students, as the sample. A closed questionnaire served as the research instrument. The data analysis revealed: a) the correlation coefficient (r) value was 0.579, which falls in the moderate category and exceeds the critical r value of 0.254, and the t-value was 5.408, surpassing the critical t-value of 2.00172. This indicates a positive and significant relationship between Emotional Quotient (EQ) and learning outcomes in Christian Religious Education and Character Development among Grade VIII students at SMP Negeri 2 Sipoholon for the 2023/2024 academic year, within the moderate category. b) The regression equation was established. c) The determination test indicated that Emotional Quotient (EQ) contributes 33.52% to the learning outcomes in Christian Religious Education and Character Development among these students, classified as fairly good, while the remaining 66.48% is influenced by other factors outlined in the literature review, including physiological, psychological, fatigue, family, school, and community factors. d) The hypothesis test showed an F-value of 28.288, exceeding the critical F-value of 3.15, leading to the rejection of H0 and acceptance of Ha. The study concludes that there is a positive and significant effect of Emotional Quotient (EQ) on the learning outcomes of Christian Religious Education and Character Development among Grade VIII students at SMP Negeri 2 Sipoholon for the 2023/2024 academic year.
