Abstract

This research aims to determine the relationship between pedagogical competence and the functions and responsibilities of Christian Religious Education (PAK) teachers. Pedagogical competence includes the teacher's ability to understand the characteristics of students, design appropriate learning, manage the class well, and evaluate learning effectively. The research results show that PAK teachers who have good pedagogical competence can carry out their duties as educators, mentors and facilitators more effectively. This competency helps teachers to integrate Christian religious teachings in learning and guides students in character development in accordance with Christian values. However, teachers also face challenges such as the diversity of student backgrounds and technological developments that influence teaching methods. This research concludes that strengthening pedagogical competence is very important to improve the quality of teaching and help PAK teachers carry out their duties more optimally. Continuous training and support from educational institutions is needed to ensure teachers have adequate competence to face these challenges.
