Elementary education is a crucial phase in children's development, where they begin to build knowledge, skills, and attitudes that will shape their character in the future. In this context, the role of teachers as professionals is very important, not only as teachers, but also as mentors, motivators, and facilitators. The quality of education is highly dependent on the competence and professionalism of teachers. However, the challenges faced by teachers are increasingly complex, especially in the era of globalization and technological advances. Teachers are required to master the subject matter and be able to integrate technology into learning. In addition, they need to develop creative teaching methods to attract students' interest and create a conducive learning environment. Developing teacher professionalism through training and seminars is essential to improving teaching effectiveness. This journal discusses various aspects related to the role of teachers in elementary education, including the competencies needed, the challenges faced, and strategies to improve teacher professionalism. The research method used is descriptive qualitative, which aims to describe the conditions and perceptions related to the role of teachers in character education. The results of the study indicate that teacher role models and the integration of character values in learning are very important to form an intelligent and moral generation.
