This study aims to analyze the ethical considerations of smoking among students in a private junior high school, SMP Swasta HKBP Sipoholon. Smoking behavior among adolescents has become a significant concern due to its negative impact on health, discipline, and moral values, especially in educational environments. The research examines factors influencing students to smoke, including peer pressure, lack of parental supervision, and the school’s role in enforcing discipline and moral education. The study also explores the ethical implications of smoking, emphasizing how this behavior contradicts the moral and spiritual teachings upheld by the school. Through qualitative methods, data were collected via interviews with students, teachers, and parents, as well as observations within the school environment. The findings suggest that smoking among students is driven by external influences and internal challenges, such as curiosity and identity-seeking behaviors. The study concludes that fostering a strong ethical foundation through education, parental involvement, and effective school policies is crucial to mitigating smoking behavior among students. Recommendations include the integration of moral education programs, stricter disciplinary measures, and collaborative efforts between parents and teachers to cultivate ethical and responsible behavior among students.
